LoR received from School of environment Management, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka, NCT of Delhi to take four students for the dissertation in NECTAR’s project for six months starting from mid Feb 2021.

Each student will have internal supervisor from the University and External from the organisation i.e NECTAR. The students will work on the projects like: -

  • Meghalaya fruit Mapping, Assam
  • Medicinal & Aromatic Plant Mapping, Assam
  • Flood Prone Zone Mapping in North East.
  • Mapping of suitable Agro-Climatic Zone for saffron cultivation in North East.

In particular the students will work on these specific themes like: -

  1.  Estimating impact of flood in three highly vulnerable districts of the Brahmaputra Valley in Assam by using Geospatial Technology.
  2. Importance of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants for health care, society, and economy: A study in selected districts in Assam 
  3. Mapping of  major fruit cultivation areas for benefiting farmers with market linkages: A case study of application of Geospatial Techniques in two districts of Meghalaya.
  4. Assessment of soil suitability for cultivation of Saffron: A study in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya in NE Region of India.

Now four students from the IPU are pursuing their dissertation course under the NECTAR’s technology outreach programme for NE.
